As promised – here’s a peek at the abundant and delightful chaos that was the 2012 Renegade Holiday Craft Fair in Chicago!
The crowds were bigger than ever this season, which made for a busy day! Caitlin and I were on our toes the entire weekend, greeting shoppers, answering questions and selling lots!
It was a fruitful endeavor that always leaves me feeling inspired and invigorated. I loved seeing many repeat clients come shopping through – as well as the friendly faces of fellow vendors. Whether selling, shopping or mingling, I had an absolute blast! Am I exhausted after the fact? You bet! But every ounce of energy poured into preparing and executing this fair was well worth it!!!
One of the most exciting things about planning for events is merchandising! Concocting fun, engaging and bold displays is truly the icing on the cake. Designing the signs, choosing a layout and developing a theme – it’s my favorite part of prep.
Having someone with which to share the experience makes planning even more of a blast! Collaborating with Caitlin Peters of Wanderlustings again has allowed us to dream up a whole new look for our conjoined event booth. Not only does her beautiful brain power inspire the look of our nook, it also propels the ‘fun factor’ of prep to a whole new level! Read the rest of this entry »
It’s that time again – time to start making my shopping list for the annual holiday edition of the Renegade Craft Fair!
I’m not just shopping the event, I will also be selling my wares! Once more I am collaborating with Caitlin Peters of Wanderlustings to create an invitingly boutique-like booth that will be filled to the brim with clothing, jewelry and festive accessories.
Stop by to visit and you’ll find my popular Sir Cycle men’s hoodies, the forever adorable Cosby skirts, my Peek A Boo Chevron cardigans and more! Plus – wear a Pierogi Picnic design to the event and you’ll receive a 30% discount on your purchase with me that day!!!
Be sure to swing by the event this weekend in Wicker Park to stock up on all your gift needs!
Big news hit my inbox Monday – Pierogi Picnic has been accepted to the 2012 rendition of Renegade’s Holiday Market! It will be my second time participating in the December show and am so excited for the opportunity!
I am also really looking forward to partnering with my good friend and creative cohort Caitlin Peters of Wanderlustings. Her new jewelry collection has me absolutely smitten. Between her beautiful and intricate trinkets and my brightly colored fabric baubles we’re going to knock the socks off this year’s fair goers!
So for the next month and a half expect lots of sneak peeks and previews of what’s to come at this year’s event! I’ll also be picking your brains closer to the date about booth setups and merchandise via the Pierogi Picnic Facebook. So be sure to stay tuned!
Pierogi Picnic had quite a buzz going right before the Renegade Craft Fair a week back – and it looks like lots of the credit is due to our friends over at My Daily Find.
My biz was featured in their Style Forecast, “Five Artists to Watch at Renegade Craft Fair Chicago.” We’re so thankful to have been counted as one of their up-and-coming Chicago artisans.!
Guess who made a surprise pit stop by the Pierogi Picnic booth at the Renegade Craft Fair this past weekend? Apparently a photographer from the Chicago Sun-Times!
Imagine my surprise when a friend emailed me a link to their coverage of the event! My new “Point of Light” upcycled ruffle dress takes center stage in the featured picture. I’m stoked, and I hope you are too! Who could ask for better press?!

This is one of my all-time favorite creations – the new Easy Breezy top! Handmade using pre-loved t-shirt cotton and a vintage slip, this lightweight piece has all the elements I’m looking for in a shirt. A flirty cut, scalloped edge, light as air fabric and handmade aesthetic – I predict that it will be a quick fan favorite.
Swing by Renegade to check out these new shirts in person or swing by my Etsy shop after September 9th for their internet debut.
